The NSW Low Income Household Rebate helps low income households with their energy costs. This rebate is applied to the electricity bill, so it’s a big help to eligible families.

For 2024-25 the rebate has been increased from $285 to $350. Eligibility is for holders of a Pensioner Concession Card, Health Care Card or Department of Veterans Affairs Gold Card.

The NSW Family Energy Rebate helps families with dependent children with their energy bills. It’s especially good for families who receive the Family Tax Benefit.

The amount for 2024-25 is $250 (up from $180). Families who receive the Family Tax Benefit and have finalised their entitlement with Services Australia can apply. The rebate is a one off payment to the electricity bill.
Application Process
Families need to apply through the Service NSW website and upload the Family Tax Benefit confirmation letter and energy account details. Applications for 2023-24 close 16 June 2024.
The Medical Energy Rebate is for households with people who have energy intensive medical equipment. It helps with the extra energy costs of running life supporting devices.
Eligibility and Amount
For 2024-25, the Medical Energy Rebate is $350 (up from $285). Eligible equipment includes oxygen concentrators, dialysis machines and other medical devices. Households need to provide evidence of the medical condition and the need for the equipment.
How to Apply

The Seniors Energy Rebate is for self funded retirees holding a Commonwealth Seniors Health Card to help with their energy bills.
Eligibility and Amount
The amount for 2024-25 is $250 (up from $200). Eligible seniors need to apply through their energy retailer or the Service NSW website.

Seniors need to apply through Service NSW and upload their Commonwealth Seniors Health Card and energy account details. The rebate is a one off payment to the electricity bill.
The Life Support Rebate is for households with people who have life support equipment that uses a lot of energy. This rebate ensures these households get the financial support to offset the cost of running the equipment.

For 2024-25 the rebate amounts for each type of equipment have increased by 22%. Households need to provide medical certification for the equipment to be eligible.

The Gas Rebate helps with the cost of your gas bills. Although the amount is unchanged for 2024-25, it’s still a big help for eligible households.
